Press Release Akim of Almaty Visits the “Zhanuya” Boarding School Built by BI Group
Akim of Almaty Darkhan Satybaldy and Chairman of BI Group Aydin Rakhimbaev inspected the new “Zhanuya” complex for children with special needs, scheduled to open in September 2025. Akim reviewed the completed work, spoke with teachers and students, noted the quality of construction, and thanked BI Group for its social contribution.

The boarding school buildings, originally constructed in 1962, had fallen into disrepair and posed a danger to children. In 2024, as part of its corporate social responsibility, BI Group took the initiative to demolish the old structures and build a brand-new complex at its own expense—around 6 billion tenge—designed in line with international best practices and with the involvement of inclusion experts.
During construction, the students were temporarily accommodated at the “Ornek” camp and Boarding School No. 1. Today, all work has been completed, the grounds have been landscaped, and in September the children will be able to return to their new home.
The total area of the complex is nearly 12,000 square meters. It includes classrooms, workshops, a modern dormitory for 216 students, a cafeteria, sports and dance halls, as well as offices for a speech therapist, psychologist, special education teacher, and physical therapy. For children with special needs, an inclusive environment has been created with tactile and color navigation. The territory also features sports grounds, recreation areas, and a newly planted alley.
“For our 30th anniversary, we decided to celebrate not inside the company but with a gift to society. We could have built a monument or a fountain, but instead we chose something of true value—a home where hundreds of children will feel needed and loved. This is the best symbol of our anniversary,” emphasized BI Group CEO Aydin Rakhimbaev.
