BI Group to Build New Oncology Building in Zhezkazgan
A time capsule-laying ceremony was held in Zhezkazgan to mark the start of a new oncology building project at the Regional Multidisciplinary Hospital. The project is being implemented by BI Group under an EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) contract, covering the full scope of design, procurement, and construction works.
The new building, with a total floor area of approximately 22,000 square meters, will be located on the grounds of the existing hospital. It will include a 100-bed inpatient facility, with 60 beds designated for oncology patients, and a consultation and diagnostic center capable of accommodating 250 patient visits per shift.
The building will house departments of oncological surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, gynecology, and palliative care. One of the key pieces of medical equipment will be a linear accelerator, an advanced system used for high-precision radiation therapy in cancer treatment. The project also includes specialized examination and treatment rooms, modern patient wards, and an easy-to-navigate layout.
“This is an important project for Zhezkazgan and the entire Ulytau Region. The construction of healthcare facilities requires exceptional precision and careful attention to engineering solutions, as the quality of the infrastructure directly affects both the working conditions of medical professionals and patient comfort. Our team will make every effort to deliver this project to the highest professional standards,” said Balgyn Ibraimov, Project Manager at BI Group.
The project also includes the relocation of the existing consultation and diagnostic center and the redistribution of inpatient beds from the hospital’s main building.
Construction of the new building is scheduled to begin in 2026, with construction and installation works expected to take 22 months.
