The Abylkhan Qasteev memorial house-museum reopens after renovation

On December 11, 2024, as part of the anniversary events marking the 120th birthday of Kazakhstan's first People’s Artist, Abylkhan Qasteev, the official presentation of the new exhibition at his Memorial House-Museum and the art exhibition “Priceless Heritage” took place. The museum reopened following a partial renovation carried out by ES-Studio, initiated and supported by BI Group.

The creative legacy of Abylkhan Qasteev (1904–1973), Kazakhstan’s first People’s Artist, continues to inspire professionals in various creative fields, including artists, designers, and architects. His unique style, combining simplicity of form and depth of content across a wide range of genres and techniques, represents a remarkable polyphonic harmony. Even builders couldn’t resist the power of his artistic energy, leading BI Group to name its new residential complex in the capital “Qasteev.”

“From the very beginning of this project, we dreamed of naming it after our great fellow countryman. The proximity to nature, particularly the botanical garden, and the many objects related to creativity and self-expression inspired this idea. We reached out to the Kasteyev family and received their approval. This is how our residential complex got its beautiful name, Qasteev. As a token of gratitude, we volunteered to provide pro bono support to the artist’s memorial museum and, together with our partners from the ES-Studio architectural bureau, carried out its partial renovation,” said Asan-Ali Zhumabayev, Business Development Director at BI Group.

The first phase of the business-class residential complex is set to be completed in 2026.
