Renowned russian surgeon operated on 13 Kazakhstani children

Dr. Yuri Sokolov, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, and Head of the Pediatric Surgery Department at the Russian Medical Academy of Continuous Professional Education, performed surgeries on 13 children with developmental anomalies in Aktau. The treatment was provided free of charge as part of the mentorship project Mumkindik by the Zhuldyzai Corporate Foundation. The complex procedures were accompanied by a master class for Kazakhstani surgeons, where local specialists learned innovative techniques, exchanged expertise, and enhanced their professional skills.
The surgeries were performed at the Mangistau Regional Multi-Profile Children's Hospital. The doctors came to the master class from Karaganda, Turkestan, and the Mangistau region. For the first time, Kazakhstani surgeons learned the techniques of endovideo surgery for treating congenital malformations in children.
It is worth noting that in 2023 alone, 86 high-tech surgeries were performed under the Mumkindik program, and 204 children received consultations from top-tier foreign specialists. The project is supported by the BI Group construction holding and its employees, who cover the fees and all expenses of the invited professors.
