10 Finalists of the “Worthy Citizen of Kazakhstan” Contest Announced
Next stage – public voting. BI Group will award three winners with apartments.
The expert stage of the “Worthy Citizen of Kazakhstan” contest, organized by BI Group as part of the “30 Good Deeds”initiative dedicated to the company’s 30th anniversary, has officially concluded. The jury has selected 10 finalists whose impactful achievements and stories reflect human kindness, civic responsibility, and significant social value.
The 2025 jury panel included:
- Gaukhar Kerimova – PR Director at Home Credit Bank and author of the first “Worthy Citizen” project.
- Zhamilya Ernazarova – entrepreneur, founder of the private fund “Community of Female Entrepreneurs of Kazakhstan – UMAI”.
- Murat Kabyllbayev – father of 17 children, 16 of whom are adopted, author of the book “Show Me the Sky...” and winner of the first “Worthy Citizen” contest.
- Magzhan Tazhin – member of the human rights organization Erkindik Kanaty, promoting civil society in Kazakhstan.
- Marzhan Kapsamat – dombra player, musician, teacher, and blogger dedicated to Kazakh culture and traditions.
The jury did an incredible job in a short amount of time — each application resonated deeply and highlighted meaningful, impactful work. Choosing just ten individuals was not easy, as every finalist represents a story of personal initiative and true inspiration.
Finalists of the “Worthy Citizen of Kazakhstan” Contest – 2025:
- Rasima Temerbayeva – organizer of the “Kind Lunches” project for elderly citizens.
- Gaukhar Omarova – founder of the “Ümit Üzbeu” foundation supporting children with disabilities.
- Aizhan Karkenova – co-founder of the “You Are Not Alone” initiative, providing housing for women in crisis.
- Kairat Sabirov – founder of a para-hockey program for children with special needs.
- Assel Abdrakhmanova – artist and entrepreneur supporting creators with disabilities.
- Beknazar Kaziev – volunteer and mentor for youth, initiator of environmental projects.
- Timur Makambetov – rescue volunteer and co-founder of the Kislorod_sos_taraz movement.
- Adil Nurbekov – para-athlete and activist advocating for the rights of people with disabilities.
- Nurmakhan Nauryzbayev – educator and mentor who inspires youth to pursue knowledge.
- Gulnaz Kosmurzyeva – founder of Biz de adambyz foundation and initiator of an inclusive theater in Atyrau.
Online voting is now open and will run until August 5 on the official contest website. Anyone can support the nominees by casting a vote for the story that resonates most. Please note: one person can vote only once.
The three winners of the public vote will receive fully finished one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments in a new BI Group residential complex in the capital city of Astana.
