To mark its 30th anniversary, BI Group has launched a large-scale program of good deeds — initiatives aimed at developing social infrastructure across Kazakhstan. One of the key projects is “Trails of Happiness,” focused on improving popular mountain trails in Almaty.

In 2025, the third phase of the project began. BI Group started developing a new route through the Prohodnoye Gorge to Terra Glade and the Alyoshkin Bridge — one of the most visited destinations for hikers. The route extends up to the Cosmostation at an altitude of 3,330 meters above sea level. Total route length: 13.5 km, elevation gain: approx. 1,580 meters. Investment in the third phase: 106 million tenge.

The symbolic centerpiece of this phase is the Alyoshkin Bridge — one of Kazakhstan’s highest mountain suspension bridges. The bridge spans 50 meters and is located over 3,000 meters above sea level. Newly added amenities include two Ecodomeo eco-toilets, three wooden chalet gazebos, 14 benches, 80 meters of safety railings, six directional signs, and four information panels with trail maps.

Plans for 2025–2028:
In 2026, BI Group will develop four trails (17 km) in the Butakov Gorge, and in 2027, an 11 km route known as the “Japanese Road – Eco Post.” All trails will be equipped with gazebos, benches, signs, and safety infrastructure. Total future investment: over 335 million tenge.

Digital Safety for Hikers:
BI Group is also building a digital navigation and safety system that includes:

  • Online maps with GPS tracks
  • Hiker registration and routing
  • Automated emergency alerts
  • Mountain safety recommendations

This system will be handed over to the Almaty Akimat. Investment in the digital system: 100 million tenge.

Why It Matters:
Almaty’s mountains attract thousands of hikers annually, but many routes lack safety — over 260 rescue missions were conducted in the past five years alone. “Trails of Happiness” aims to change that by combining eco-consciousness, design, and comfort.

Over 150 BI Group employees personally participated in the installation of infrastructure and raised a flag on the bridge — making the project a true part of BI’s ESG strategy and team spirit.

30 Years – 30 Good Deeds:
In 2025, BI Group celebrates 30 years of transforming Kazakhstan’s urban and infrastructure landscape.

The “Trails of Happiness” is a reflection of BI Group’s commitment to sustainability, nature preservation, and creating inclusive, safe, and comfortable environments for all.
