Who we are?

Foundation of the company. Registration of the enterprise “AzTEK” LLP.

1995

ABK-Kurylys was founded and the construction of the first facility in the capital began

1998

Completion of the first three residential complexes. The number of employees exceeds 1,000. Establishment of the corporate charity foundation BI-Zhuldyzai.  

2003

Construction of 17 projects simultaneously, including the launch of commercial real estate development.

2005

Start of infrastructure projects, entry into the foreign market

2009

The construction of premium class housing has begun. Completion of the unique high-speed train manufacturing plant Tulpar–Talgo in Astana, the first of its kind in the CIS.

2011

BI Group is the largest construction company in Kazakhstan. Work on the eco-project Green Quarter was carried out as part of preparations for EXPO 2017.

2013

Ranked 164th in the global developers’ rating. The company's share in the capital market reached 52%, the share in road construction — 20%.

2015

EPC partnership, cooperation with international business. The leader of the housing market in Almaty. 4 million square meters have been built in the entire history of the company. BI Group comprises 4 companies and 19 divisions.

2017

In September, the company launched ModeX, a volumetric modular construction plant with a capacity of 200,000 sq. m More than 12,000 clients received the keys to their apartments. Expansion into the Uzbek market and advancement of the Smart Remont and Smart Home IT solutions.

2019

The holding is actively developing competencies on the basis of the SemArco joint venture, the partner of which is the international group Archirodon. The holding offered the market a new housing format - bigville. The first two innovative BINOM schools were put into operation.

2021

BI Development delivered a record 1.6 million sq. m of residential property. In Uzbekistan, the company entered the Top 3 developers. Active construction of infrastructure projects continues in Kazakhstan and abroad. BI Development issued bonds on the Astana International Exchange (AIX) totaling $13.5 million.

2023

Establishment of “BI Group” LLP — the parent company of the future holding

2001

The company invests in its own production of building materials, launching the manufacturing of plastic windows and concrete.


2004

The company becomes a Holding. More than 20 residential complexes completed; BI Group’s share in the Astana market reached 18%.

2007

Participation in the construction of the international transport corridor “Western Europe – Western China” and Kazakhstan’s first highway Astana – Borovoe.

2010

Start of construction on the Trans-Caspian corridor, including the railway lines Beineu–Shalkar and Arkalyk–Shubarkol. The BI Group Corporate University is established.

2012

The holding ranks 189th in the global ENR Top-250 Global Contractors listing.

2014

Entry into the oil and gas construction market. For the first time in Kazakhstan’s history, one company built 1 million square meters in a single year. The company delivered the longest bridge in Kazakhstan — the Nurly Zhol Bridge in Pavlodar

2016

Every 10th apartment in Kazakhstan was built by BI Group. For the first time in CIS history, the global triathlon race BI GROUP IRONMAN Astana was held in Astana

2018

Amid the pandemic, BI Group commissioned an infectious disease hospital in Astana, built in just 13 days. The company went on to build 15 hospitals across Kazakhstan. 

2020

Nearly 16,000 apartments were put into operation, and around 50,000 clients celebrated housewarming in their new homes

2022

Expansion into international markets of Azerbaijan, the UAE, and the USA. Construction of eight educational facilities as part of the national project “Comfortable School.” The company fulfilled a historic mission by building and financing the Kurmangazy Center for Children’s Creative Development in the city of Fuzuli (Azerbaijan), commissioned by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

2024

History of the company

BI Engineering & Construction implements the construction of strategic industrial, civil and infrastructure facilities, as well as the largest tender projects in Kazakhstan.
